OogieCam is a hybrid application that integrates a synthesizer and sample player directly with a video camera, creating an innovative approach to musical interaction.

It functions as a novel musical instrument by translating visual data into sound, specifically converting color information captured through the camera into musical output.

The application employs a proprietary algorithm to analyze the RGB values, luminance, and chromatic information of the visual input. These parameters are then mapped onto musical notes within various tonal scales configured in MIDI space.

The generated notes are constrained within selected musical keys and rendered through an integrated synthesizer and sample playback system.

OogieCam includes three default ColorPacks, each featuring 32 preset patches and access to an extensive library of hidden samples, which users can discover unpredictably via a "dice roll" feature.

Additional ColorPacks—such as Metal Shop, WoodWorks, Urbanity, among others—are available for further expansion.

The Pro Mode upgrade introduces advanced features, including audio recording capabilities, the ability to add custom samples, patch editing tools, and other professional functionalities.
